The Readership Leadership seminar is for those charged with leading
organization change to meet the needs of print and online consumers. It offers strategies to put knowledge into action and overcome
the hurdles and stalls inevitable in a long-term drive toward increased readership and radical
transformation.
Sessions include best practice examples, case studies and small group work. Participants will work throughout the seminar to develop an action plan relevant to their organization.
Gain new perspectives on how consumers use news, the development of digital communities and fresh lessons
gleaned from research aimed at helping newsrooms adapt more quickly to the changing marketplace.
Sessions will be guided by faculty who have helped newspapers grow audience in the United States, Canada, Latin America and Europe.
Your organization’s change leaders can expect to learn:
- What people want from media, and how expectations vary by online, print, mobile deliveries and audience
demographics
- Why the habits of video gamers have implications for media companies
- How to improve advertising content
- How to engage your workforce in a future focus centered on consumer needs and hire for success in a digital age
- The long-range media landscape: demographic forecasting and its implications for news organizations
Who Should Attend
Leaders from editorial, advertising, circulation
and marketing departments who are responsible for growing the print and online newspaper will find this program most beneficial. The center encourages
organizations to send more than one employee – a cross-departmental
team of three or four is optimal.
Readership Leadership will be offered November 10 to 13, 2008.
